The year begins with a dedicated time of prayer, seeking guidance and blessings for the year’s programs and activities.

Annual Raffle Fundraiser – Journeys International’s main Fundraiser of the Year:
This exciting raffle offers community members the chance to win amazing prizes while supporting Journeys’ programs. All proceeds go directly towards funding scholarships, educational trips, and youth development programs.
Students can apply for Journeys International scholarships, offering support for both academic and athletic pursuits. (Deadline: April 28th)
JOURNEYS INTERNATIONAL EVENT HIGHLIGHTS
FEBRUARY - MARCH - MAY
February 21st-23rd – Educational Trip to San Salvador
This immersive trip offers hands-on experiences that deepen students’ understanding of Bahamian history and geography.
May 24th – May Fest Explosion
A special celebration honoring mothers while raising funds for Journeys’ programs, with proceeds supporting youth activities and outreach.
All Programs Begin – Swimming, Band, and Soccer:
Our youth programs resume, providing structured activities that encourage skill-building, teamwork, and personal growth.
JUNE - JULY - AUGUST
June 24th-25th – Transitioning Retreat for 5th-6th Graders
This retreat supports students moving to new academic stages, focusing on building resilience and leadership skills. Christopher Huyler Awards Banquet (June 24th): Honors students for excellence, leadership, and determination.
July 7th-11th – Educational and College Trip to Atlanta
Students visit universities and cultural sites, broadening their perspectives and inspiring academic aspirations.
July 14th-August 8th – Journeys International Summer Camp
A dynamic summer program with creative, academic, and athletic activities that fosters growth, learning, and friendships.
Pack-A-Bag Back-to-School Initiative
Volunteers and donors come together to provide school supplies to underserved students, ensuring they start the school year equipped and ready.
SEPTEMBER - OCTOBER - DECEMBER
Third Monday – Back to School & Program Resumptions
All programs, including Swimming, Band, and Soccer, resume with an emphasis on skill advancement and dedication. First Band Performance – Students showcase their talents in a special performance for the community, celebrating their hard work and dedication in music.
OCTOBER - Breast Cancer Awareness Month:
A series of events honors breast cancer survivors, commemorates loved ones, and raises awareness, uniting the community in support and remembrance.
December 12th – 12 Hours of Christmas
Students deliver holiday treats to community workers (e.g., hospital and police staff), spreading holiday cheer and gratitude. Evening Movie Night at Fusion Superplex: The day culminates with a festive movie night to celebrate the season.
